1. Sunday of Advent.

Img_3954 Img_3956 Img_3958 Img_3959

Crafting Kids:

  • Clay Santas
  • Oranges with red ribbon
  • Advent candle ornaments

Mommy:

  • Advent candle ornament
  • Tiny toadstool

I've got a cold - I feel terrible and VERY tired, but I have to stay "fresh", because I'm alone with the kids, have been so since yesterday. My boyfriend is away, helping his Dad move. Wish he was here, so I could just snuggle up and feel sorry for myself  ;o)

MORE mail!!!

Img_3937

The lovely postcards from Ana came this morning - I'm so exited by her Paper Scrap Dolls.

Img_3915 I've been inspired to do some of my own and I have plenty of other ideas, that I wanna try out for Christmas presents!

I think making them is a really great process because it gets the creativity going. I love it when one project just turns into another and everything gets mixed up, but still has something in common - do you know what I mean?

I guess that's crafting, huh?

And creativity!

Today some of our friends are coming over for a little Mexican dinner and an evening out with the kids:

We're going down to the town square, to see Santa light up the big Christmas tree...yippie...and have glögg (warm red wine with aquavit, cinnamon, raisins and almonds) and aebleskiver (which are like waffles formed as tennis balls)! Yummy...

Last year somebody from the local newspaper, took a photo of my son sitting on his Dad's shoulders and this year it's in the paper - cool.

I bought some ribbon today and when I came home, I noticed how it matched this dishtowel, that I got at the local Red Cross store, a little while back. It has the same cool colors. I really love that dishtowel, with the little fruits and the bike and the "Grocery" sign and all.

The 1982 cloth calender is also a find from that day - dancing girls - so cute...

Oh...and this is for you Rosa!

Teddy

Well...I also missed having him here...

A Piece of Me

Well...I thought I'd share a piece of me with you and some of my favorite personal belongings:

  • My Guess Mens watch, that I bought on eBay, as a gift from my Mom, when I turned 30 last year.
  • My tattoo.
  • My key holder from Anne-Claire Petit.
  • My super cool and lovely Norwegian boots, that I've dreamed of forever and that my Sweetheart gave me for my 30. Birthday.
  • And a pair of earrings made of porcelain, that would match sooo well....(Santa?)

You can see more earrings and cool stuff at Maries Butik, like these, these and this!

I knit!

Img_3846_6

This is what it looks like, when I'm knitting. Can you tell I'm knitting a dog?

Img_3851_8

These colors will be for my daughter....

...but my son got real exited, when he found out I was knitting a dog: "I want it, I want it...please?"

He just loves softies and teddies and all kinda soft creatures. This is most of his "stash" and him buried in his loved ones.

Dyr_2 Img_3590_4

The one he's holding, is his first teddy, that his Daddy got him the day he was born and he sleeps with him every night.

Rosa's postcards arrived today. I am sooo loving them. They will definitely be used for Christmas decorating. I think I will frame them individually in black frames - very cool. They will probably stay on the wall for all of 2006, if I know just a little bit about myself! Ha Ha...

Isn't snail mail just GREAT?

*Check out the Santa card - very funny*

My swap package for Jackie was finally out of here and off to Australia yesterday, after many trials and errors, including sick kids - again! How am I ever gonna keep a job? And how can we afford me not having a job? Phewie...

Christmas Time.

I love Christmas and now it's time to start preparing and decorating - YAY!

Only problem is, that what I like for Christmas ornaments and what the rest of the family likes....phew...that is worlds apart.

Here are some of my favorites from Medusa, see more of them here:

1014_2 6001_2 Medusselorkester_2 1016_1

I really want this guy for Christmas, ain't he cool?

Also this and this  by Anne Black, would look sooo great in my house!

I've been thinking about making - kinda - some of those hearts, stars and piggies, also from Anne Black, out of some sort of hobby clay or dough...I don't know. We'll see about that.

My first swap!

Yay...I'm doing a swap with Jackie and I'm sooo exited, because I think her style is super cool and I really admire her work. Here's a peek at her parcel. I had to throw in some extra goodies, because I promised it would be out of here today, but it won't :o( Sorry - the post office closed an hour earlier than I thought.

Busy, busy, busy!

I've got quite a few projects to finish, before I start my x-mas job, which starts December 1.:

  1. Paint our kitchen. (My boyfriend did this!)
  2. Paint our staircase. (Still not done...)
  3. Wash our windows. (Boyfriend did this too!!!)
  4. Make advent ornament.
  5. Make scrapbook for my daughter's Nursery.
  6. Take both kids to the Doctor, for their check ups. (Oooops....)
  7. Visit my pregnant sister in law. (Yay, my baby brother's having a baby in June!) (Hmmm...)
  8. (Make time for) craft projects. (Getting better?)

I'm so glad that I've got plenty of time!?

Gee...and all I can think of, is when am I gonna have time for my crafting? I've got tons of things I wanna make.

Do you remember these?

Img_3724

I found them, at the local thrift store. Somehow the green monkey reminds me of my childhood.

Img_3700_1

Oooohhhh....and to match Jackie's PINK theme; I just got my new glasses:

Img_3683_1

Img_3686_1 Img_3738_1

They're by Dior and they're PINK. The colors on the photo's, are not as pink as in real life - sorry.

I love'em!

The other me?

Have you tried this?

Baby_1Old_1  Asian_1Male_1

Here you have the baby me, the old me, the Asian me and the male me....pretty freaky....

How's that for Self Portrait Tues....oh....Wednesday?

I once found it through Jessica, who got it from Katey. Here it is, knock yourself out!

My photos were made, with this older photo, where my hair is real short.

Here she is - my daughter - sporting the skirt I finally finished.

Img_3625_12 Img_3626_13

It was actually quite simple, it just took me a while to get on with it.

The weekend just flew by and we didn't do anything at all :o(

We just had a cat living here for a few days, we even thought he had moved in! Our 2 other cats had accepted him and let him eat his food, but then when we came back from my mother in law, he was gone. My husband then met one of our neighbors, who was putting up posters, about the little cat, because now he was sleeping on their sofa! What a funny kitten...

Img_3659_1

Don't you just love this huge frame? I got a while back and it was a steal.

Notice the lamp in the background, it's actually designed by my Grandads cousin - Simon Karkov - cool, eh? It's called Norm 69 and I got it last year, for my 30 birthday. I looove it.

Getting settled....

....craft wise ;o)

I really can't do any crafting without  the proper space, just for me and my stuff!

Sooo... here is my 2 tables with sewing machines and various projects in the making:

  • My daughter's skirt.
  • Funny ladies paper cut-outs.
  • A new embroidery project. (Not sure what it'll end up being?)
  • Knit practicing!!

Img_3551 Img_3556_1

Well, it's actually all ready much more cluttered, since I realized I need a little something for my needles. I also took out my cat project again, because I've been drawing different cats to make and I'm looking through my fabric stash to find some matches.

I better get to it then!

Freaky Freddie.

Here he is, my new pal: Freaky Freddie ;o)

Img_3541_3

Img_3514_1 Img_3517_1

I'm still working on him.

My son's first reaction was: "Where's his tail?"

My boyfriend thought he was a seal or penguin...and I'm like...hmmm...trying to make a better pattern!!

I love the fabric though, they're vintage duvet covers.

*Note: I'm going away for a few days - to my Mother-in-law - and plenty of great food!*

Thank you for commenting my blog.

Yay...thanks for my first comments, I was sooo surprised!

I've tried to  leave comments for all of you: Blair, Lynn and Risa but they won't be posted, so that'll be some other time, when I've found out what's wrong.

Anyway...not only am I throwing myself into the weblogging world; I'm also experimenting with softies:

I bought this fine book from 1969 from an antique shop.

Photo_1

I've started with a cat and he is, for now, Freaky Freddie! He looks a bit weird, so I'll have to experiment a little with the pattern, to get it right. You see, this book just gives suggestions to how it can be done and tips on various techniques but it doesn't say exactly how to do it!

Well later on in the book are patterns for Winnie the pooh and the Piglet, but I'm not there yet!

They're actually quite cool, it's the original characters.

Pooh

Photos of my "cat project" to be posted later and hopefully I'll finish my daughter's skirt soon.

RED.

What's with all the red in our house?

Yes Mommy I will model...

....the new tote bag we made!Img_3460_2

My son and I made this. He drew a robot that we cut out in fabric and appliqued, he even helped with the stitchery! We also attatched his name ribbon. (Upper left corner.)

Thrifting.

This is some new furniture for our living room, that I bought at the Red Cross shop for $40,- including delivery! Love that place...Img_3409_3                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            The t-shirt is my sons, that he got for his birthday. He will not wear it and his Mommy just loves it, so it hangs in our dining room for me to enjoy ;o) It's danish and made by katvig who makes really cool clothes for kids.Img_3432_4

Inside was these incredible pieces of paper, lining the shelves, that I carefully "operated" out of there!

My first blog...

...wow....finally I jumped into my own weblogging world, after months of reading others!

I must admit I've got butterflies in my stomach, I'm so exited to find out how this works.

So I'll snoop around a bit and try to figure out how to submit photos and so on.
