The Pig that didn't want to be made

I'm making a pair of pig-softies for a sweet girl and her baby brother. Weeeeel.....first I cut all the fabric and then I started on the girl piggy. It all went fine, until the stuffing: She burst! The felt kept expanding and I kept filling...poor thing! Then I tried to *operate* on her - doing a little *plastic surgery*. Oh my...her face got really big and weird, but I kept going! Adding a (to big) snout, messing up my stitching and now I can feel my vanity lurking: "Don't give her away - don't show her to anyone!" Wow...do I feel that? Well my son agrees, that she's ugly, but my daughter think she's wonderful and I know she funny, but I wanted her to be cute and adorable, y'know? The fabric was chosen thereafter. MmmmmmmK............I'll let you see her!

(I've tried to *spice her up* a bit, by adding some trim, that Risa send me - lovely colors, no?)

Her piggy brother, turned out the way he was supposed to and he took *no time* to make.

If I have time to make another girl, I'll make one to match him. I'm meeting Siiri and Vinski's mother - Annu - next week, so I don't have much time. I'm also working on paper cuts, but have really enjoyed making these softies after all!

Kiddie Craftin'

My son has signed up for The Mini Swap and he is very ready. Ideas are flying around here and it was real hard, getting him out of the door this morning, to go to kindergarten. He only *chocked* a little bit, when I told him, that he might be making and receiving stuff from a GIRL! Oh....but what do they like? What can they make? I calmed him down, by saying that they like to draw and make stuff, just like himself - phew - he's still game!

Well...my game is on to: I'm doing paper cuts like crazy here. Here is our dining table all set up for today's cutting.

Img_4769_1

I just ordered some more paper, that I found at Moods - I'll be cutting away these next days, to meet my deadline: Beginning of February! I also found some lovely fabric last week, when I went *Thrifting* and I can't wait to put it in to use.

Cheer Up Goodies

Img_4707 Img_4715

Super sweet Sabine, sent me these goodies to cheer me up, because I was complaining to her yesterday, about our loan not going through :o( But today - tada - it seems that it will work out anyway ;o) She included two little business cards, from my favorite shop in Copenhagen: *Creme de la creme a la Edgar* - it's sooo inspiring!

Check out what I mailed to Risa!

February 11. at 11 o'clock

That's when we're getting married. At the local *town* museum. And this is the dress I just ordered to wear. (Hope it get's here on time?) And here's one of the things, I dream of getting, as a wedding present.

I just LOVE that pink bunny - what is it with me and pink bunnies? - Swedish Hanna Ljungström is amazingly talented.  Flit 2005 held an exhibition called Amongst Tigers and Rhubarbs in 2005, where  she exhibited, amongst others, with Design Dessert, who made this super cool lamp, called "The Emperors New Lamp". Duktiga Annika also appeared, with some of her cool stuff, like these bibs and coin purses.

Karin Eriksson is one of the founders of Flit 2005 and her blog is filled with information, you just *can't live without* - as everybody probably all ready knows!

Bunny Doll

Img_4644 Img_4645

Well...turned out she was a bunny! I made a little pillow filled with rice, that I put in her bottom, so she can sit. Her legs are filled with rice as well. It give her a little something else....

She reminds me of someone, I've seen in a blog or at Flickr? Don't remember where and I've even looked through (quite) a few blogs! (Don't tell my boyfriend - it IS a bit time consuming...) Have you seen one, that looks like her?

Oh...check out my Funny Lady at Littlest Flower - looks very cool in a shadow box!

I'm making some Funny Ladies and Elephant cards, to put up for sale here at my blog, in the beginning of February! Yippee...

The kid's bedroom

My daughter's wallpaper arrived today. I'm only gonna do a piece of the wall - where her bed will be - to mark her space. The wall next to it -where my son's bed will be - will be painted in a pretty dark color, maybe green, with his name on it in big white letters.

Like this photo here, from one of my (many) favorite magazines: BoligLiv.

Img_4632 Img_4638

Cute, huh? I also enjoy Boligmagasinet, Bo Bedre and Elle Interiör - I just *pee my pants* over gorgeous magazines like these!

Oh...I'm knitting a little doll (or something), I'm not quite sure how it will turn out yet....

I also made this cute elephant paper cut and then I screwed it up, by stitching the edges!!! Argh....it was so much cuter before. Well... I'll just make another one then ;o)

WE DO!

Yay...as of February 1. I am officially a stay at home Mom.

Thanks to all of you, who wrote me about this subject. It really means a lot to me and I have hopefully gotten back to each of you.

Well, lots of things have been done and more to come:

  • My daughter have been taken out of daycare. (Officially February 15.)
  • My son's day in kindergarten will be 9-1:30. (And only paying for that!)
  • Our house mortgage payments will stand still, for these years.
  • I've quit the well fare system!!!
  • We can get MARRIED and will do so sometime in February as well.

We were actually gonna get married secretly in September 2003. We had it all set up with paper work, our son was gonna stay with Grandparents and we were going to honeymoon in Paris!

Then I was hit with depression and came into the well fare system, which means my boyfriend would have to provide for us, if we got married. We couldn't afford that, so we didn't get married - but we did have a WONDERFUL  weekend in Paris!

Img_0858 Img_0866 Img_0871 Img_0872 Img_0894 Img_0911 Img_0912 Img_0915 Img_0954 Img_0972

Yep....that's us....Self Portraying in Paris. Every time I see a SPT post, I think of us doing these photos ;o) So we already had the Honeymoon - time for a wedding!

Meet Maya

Img_4567_1 I finally finished my daughter's dog and my son promptly called her Maya. We don't know any Maya, so don't know where that came from, but-well-now we do! Check out Duchess sneaking up on Maya. Duchess is very cuddly. She rubs against EVERYTHING and EVERYBODY-terrible cat!Img_4571_2

Well....I also sent of Risa's package today, for our swap. I hope she'll like it. Take a look at it, all wrapped up and ready to go.Img_4553

All the tags are by Sabine and they fit so well with my "Wrapping Theme".

*Tomorrow: "Do or don't?" ;o)

Swap De Risa

Goodies have arrived from Ecuador - see how lucky I am...and the kids too!

Brev  Img_4505_1

The kids got these lovely little people and animals. My son loves small objects like that, so he immediately hid his, in a cave made of pillows and blankets. I especially love the woman carrying her baby on her back - I'm a sling Mommy too!

Img_4520 Img_4509

Risa...did you know, that I just got a shadow box, that looks very empty? Thank you for the miniature tea set - I love it. It's very cute and looks great in my box ;o) I also got a wonderful purple scarf, but the color looks to weird in the photos  - as does everything in our light at the moment!

Img_4541_4

Then there was ribbon, a brooch and a super cute card, that Risa made for me. Thank you for all of it - I love it. Love swaps...oh...and yours will be out of here by the end of the week, Risa ;o)

Img_4526_6

*Note: My daughter is sick now, can you all believe it? Seriously we have to do something different, because we just get sick all the time! Well it's just a cold, fever and the likes, but still very annoying :o(

I REALLY need some comments

*Update: Thank you for all your comments.

I am now a Stay At Home Mom ;o)

                     See this Post!

In the snow with my daughter in her sling....

My boyfriend and I are in the middle of a life altering decision. It's HUGE for our little family.

We're trying to decide, if I should stay at home or not. See, it's very unusual to stay home after baby's 1. year here in Denmark. But how can any family make it work, with both parents working away from home? What do all of you do? How much/little money can a family live on? What do you do? We're sure that it's the right choice for us - taking our daughter out of daycare and our son at half-care, but it's just sooo huge, because it's not normal!

Also, we want to be more "frugal" and more aware and make choices - not just float along. I want our family to live together....be close....and "alert"!

Anyway...please respond here....I need some other voices ;o)

Corners Of My House

Yay - a new great way to peak inside peoples houses and a wonderful new Flickr Group to join. Amanda - lovely idea! Very inspiring. I have many corners to show - some I have all ready posted here, here and here.

Img_4501

This is the corner where I knit and do other "hand projects". It has the best light, because the mobile is right next to the window. There are more details here. The photo on the shelve is of Me, my Great Grandma (Olga), my Grandma (Inge) and my Mom (Susanne). My Grandma passed away a few years ago and I miss her terribly. We were very close and it makes me feel very sad now, thinking about her. But I love this photo and it fits right in, to this months theme at SPT.

The sofa is from IKEA and it's very stained. I really want a new one, but then I stumbled upon this place and they have all these slipcovers! I don't know how to choose? I think this one here is  awesome...

(Oh and check out Stephanie's "Chickmobile".)

My daughter's new boots and blouse

240x240_tila Tomato_owl

Ordered at Filabel Baby. The boots are by See Kai Run. They make wonderful shoes, that are flexible and fit children's feet! They also sell via American stores.

The blouse is by EjSikkeLej, which is a Danish brand.

On another note:

I've had my share of "New years Thinking". What is 2006 gonna bring me? Or what am I gonna bring me in 2006? Will I start realizing some of my "creative" dreams and goals?

Like Amanda and Blair, I don't DO resolutions, but there IS something about the number turning, that makes me think. Well....I think I'll get back on that....my daughter is trying to get my attention ;o) Here she is - a bit tired....

Lovely book

I just found this lovely book at the library. It's called: "Strikkede dyr" (knitted animals) and it's absolutely wonderful.

Img_4439_1 Img_4443 Img_4455 Img_4441

Today I have to share a link! It's this super cool vintage shop called Retro Wardrobe. They have lovely dresses, shoes, awesome decor and even wedding dresses ;o)

Rwl_we030 Rwl_wd030_4

I just think they're sooo cool....I could get married in one of those :o) Honey???
