I like it raw

This is our entrance and staircase....well actually the first photo, is what I see when I sit at the toilet, with the door open! (Which happens quite a lot in a house with little kids.)

In the second photo you can see a hole in the wall (upper right corner) - that is too bring light into a small and dark room. We plan on putting an old window in there at some point. Aka when we're done using it at the bathroom!

S T O C K I N G S

I made these (super christmassy) stockings yesterday, while my husband first took the kids outside and later watched this movie with them. I enjoyed it last year at the movies. It is SO good and very Swedish and very Christmassy. The whole setting is absolutely wonderful. You can even buy it at Amazon in English! One of our cats is named after the cat in this movie - Findus - he's so cute, with his little hat and pants....

By the way, my son picked out the fabric for his stocking, after I made the one for my daughter. I had other plans for it, but he disagreed! After seeing her brothers stocking with animals on, my sweet little girl cried. She wanted that too, so I had to add a little creature after wards! She was happy. Momma thought it looked better without. Oh well. I get to make a few more for a friend's kids. Then I decide entirely how they look!!

Little Signs of Christmas

Img_7146jpg2 Img_7153jpg2

Yesterday my son and I made these. Well I made these, since he thought they where "....booooring...." I thought they were quite funny funny to make. They're from last years Christmas issue of MS Kids.

Santa will be made later. I ran out of little white buttons.

This years Christmas stockings are in the making. I plan on them looking a bit like the Denyse Schmidt Oven Mitts, but will embellish them with these fabrics and buttons.

Also in the making. For a swap with Kristy for one of her GORGEOUS Simplies. Lucky me. Lucky lucky me.

A New Scarf

I made me a new scarf to match my recently thrifted coat. I was inspired by Denyse Schmidt's Scrap Wrap, that Carol also made and 6,5 st.'s way of mixing fabric and knitted pieces. I love her style, it's very unique. In The Crafter's Companion she gives instructions on, how to make the cutest "Zakka Style Pouch" with the knit/fabric combo as well - as you all probably know! Very inspiring. I wish I could hold her stuff. You know. Just feel it. Have a better look ;o)

The back is flax fabric. The yarns are thrifted, as is the fabric with the pattern - an old duvet cover. I'm real happy how it turned out.

Look at me!

Did you try this?

I need to be doing all kinds of other things (got 2 extra orders for the orange dog!), but this! It's real fun though ;o) I tried different photo's too. One with glasses: Looked like Elton John and Larry King!!! (Thank you very much.) But I was also matched with Reese Witherspoon, Julia Stiles and Kirsten Dunst.....how do you like that? And yeah....I see myself pretty much as a Claire Danes clone. At least there's something with the "Danes", right?

Well I better get to taking some photographs, while the sun is out. I'm adding some paper cuts to my Etsy Shop.

Dogs, dogs, dogs

Dogs in need of a new home. Very cute. Very good with children.

Go get one now!

They've taken quite a bit of time to get here, but finally they're done. I hope to add a little once in a while to the shop, to keep my creative energy flowing. I do have a lot of Christmas plans for stocking fillers and decorations - I loooove Christmas!

Magazines and other things Galore

Img_7045

Look at the wonderful magazines, my sweet friend Tracy sent me! I am so lucky. I have been swooning over the atomic ranch magazine, since she posted about it. Haven't had a MS Kids in my hands FOREVER. Never had either Ready Made or Real Simple Family - so I am REAL happy! Thank you Tracy.

Oh....and she also sent all kinds of goodies for the kids (and adults alike), the Kids CD Swap - a-hem....swap goes way back ;o) - and of course the GORGEOUS paper, that started the whole dang thing!

Fantastic, huh? Must do paper cuts tonight!

Other things fantastic are these paintings by Jeanette Uldall.

I love the colors. She will be at the Freestyle Factory Bazaar this weekend. I hope I can go. I wish I was a part of it. Maybe next time?

There will be all kinds of good stuff, like clothing for all ages and genders, bags, hats, jewelry, felt things, ceramics, lamps etc. by 40 different designers! Geeezzzz...I gotta go. Must take lotsa photo's to share, right?

1 Year Bloggaversary

It's a year already! Wow - how time flies. Well I have treated myself to a little something special and what better way to celebrate a bloggaversary than with this? I'm in the middle of it and I truly enjoy reading about some of the people, who inspired me to start blogging a year ago.

They all say something about blogging (besides crafting etc.) and it just hit me, how much we all have in common no matter what our background is. They also made me feel a lot better about blogging and reading other blogs. I often feel bad when I'm using (precious) time on line, but I realize now, that this is how I connect to other people. Other people like myself. As Amy put it: "....I am with the girls all day. The craft blog has kept me connected to what others are doing..." She is so right.

I just wanna say thank you to Anna for putting the book together. It is wonderful. And thank you to all the contributors for sharing themselves. And thank you all you wonderful bloggers out there, for being a part of my life!

A day in my life.

I love Carol's idea and I see Tracy will be doing the same. Wonderful. Carol just made a Denyse Schmidt "Scrap Wrap" and I recently told her I would make one too. I have no excuses now, because I just bought this book and this kit. Oh I also got this book. Well it WAS my birthday last month ;o)
