Fiskars Ad

Last year Alicia asked me, if I wanted to do a project for the Fiskars ad: "Story Journals." It sounded very interesting, so I said yes. I entered, along with 300+ people from around the world and had a very tight deadline. So with my Husband and kids out of the house, I got to work!

There were 12 questions that I had to answer "creatively," in my own expressions and on a page in a journal provided by Fiskars, with any materials I wanted.

It was so much fun! And kinda tough too. I never worked with a deadline like that before.

Here are some of the pages I entered. They will not be used in the campaign though, but it was such a great experience!

5

::Draw a line across the middle of the page. On the top half, express what the world was like before the advent of sewing/quilting. On the bottom, express how the world is different because of the "invention" of sewing/quilting::

6

::Using any means, show us what it feels like when you find an inspiring idea or visual that triggers a moment of inspiration that you can't wait to apply to your sewing/quilting::

7

::Show us what you are thinking and feeling when you get lost in thought inside your favorite fabric or craft store::

8_1

::Imagine your current sewing/quilting project as a person. Show us what that relationship with him or her would be like::

Wow - thanks for sharing that - very creative. I always feel a bit silly with those kind of exercises and come out with something utterly predictable. Your 'answers' are terrific.

I love the linked arms on the last page!

Kristina, that's wonderful. I'm so happy that you shared that with us. I like how you drew your mind in a bubble and floated random thoughts through imaging.

Hi just dropped by for a catch up, haven't been on line for a while. Cute T-shirt and the bag it came in. Wish we had some of those cute brands in Australia. Good on you for doing the creative challange, it stretches you out of your normal creative mode. I don't do that sort of thing enough!!

What a fun challenge/project. Very inspiring!

wow, that is such a challenging project....some of those questions are difficult. it sounds like it was fun and so much more fun without kids around.

What a great project! I think you did a wonderful job, honest.

Oh man! These are so great Kristina. I was just coming over here to link to you because I finally took a picture of the doggie you made, and I love seeing what you did. I so wish everyone could've gotten chosen (mine didn't either) but I love getting to see what you did here. It's amazing how the same questions can inspire such different responses. Thanks so much for participating. And thanks for the doggie (William). We really love him. (Will write you. xoxo)

tHESE are just so great, and fun! I love the grey and then colourful world, and the one with a BIG head filled with creative thoughs. great work!

Kristina, these are so good!! I did this project too, and it was hard, don't you think? Challengine in a good way. Love how yours came out.
