Friday SHOPdate

Img_0701 Img_0699

Yes it's time for the Friday SHOPdate in my etsy shop!

A Moomin tote bag and the 2 Cone Cats I just got back, from their Australian photo shoot adventure. They will (along with their patterns) appear in the Australian book Softies, which will be out in September. I also submitted this bunny.

*OK, the Moomin Tote was sold before I even finished this post!

Now, I thought I would've made a few more tote bags, but I got sidetracked by Open Secrets, which kinda reminds me - scenery wise - of my favorite show at the moment: Men In Trees. The book I ordered along with this book, at my local library recently, after reading that Tracy was reading it! See I can take Tracy's word for recommending a great read, because I once saw she had listed The Time Traveler's Wife in her sidebar and I looooved it! Thanks Tracy. Oh and when I had finished Open Secrets, I dove right into Hateship, Friendship.....

Anyway, back to the update (see I do get sidetracked!!!), next update will be next Friday.

Miss Swaps-a-Lot

Img_0588_2 Img_0630

I got this fabulous necklace in a swap with Diana from Georgia. I saw it in her etsy shop and now I wear it ALL the time. I just LOVE it! In return I sent her this dog.

I've had a few magazine swaps with Californian Heidi from peekKEEP - peekKEEP is a wonderful on-line shop selling mainly Scandinavian design. DO check it out!

Rebecca from the U.K."claimed a prize" for being the first to guess, that my husband went to Greenland to work, earlier this year. I just HAD to send her something for being so fresh - so I sent her this cat along with some bits of fabric and buttons.

When Elisa from Italy announced she was having a baby girl, I immediately made her this giraffe. As a surprise she sent me/my daughter the gorgeous blouse below. Now I really appreciate the beautiful big bellied  Elisa's handiwork - so fab - and the fact that she took the time to make it for me.

Sorry about the overload of cuteness ;o)

Karine from France asked me to join the French superswap! and I happily joined....now my only problem is that I (still) don't speak French! Karine is very kind to translate all the questionnaires etc. but I was thinking that, maybe I should just stop mingling with the French? Except that I really want to. They seem so cool....

A HUGE thank you to my friends all over the world, for being so wonderful!

Kids At Home

This big boy is supposed to be away at camp.

His school has a "Music and Theater Festival" going on up there, with 1255 kids from all over the country. They take all the little kids - 0 through 2. grade - away to camp, for the 3 days it's going on. They supposedly can't cope with all the people and loudness. We live really close to the school and was "blessed" with the wonderful music last night - it lasted until 11 something!

Now my son doesn't like to sleep anywhere else, than near his parents, so my husband picked him up from camp last night at 7:30. Now he has 2 days at home and then 2 more days left of school, before he's on summer break.

Saturday we went to a midsummer party with this bonfire and our great friends - take a look at our adorable kids!

Kindergarten is super for my little big girl - she just loves it. Today she's at home though, with a cough and runny nose. (And poop in her diaper - gotta go!)

Travelling Moomin

This tote bag was supposed to be up in my etsy shop today, but while I was fumbling with uploading the images, Rosa had already snatched it up via Flickr! I have  fabric for a few more and will hopefully make some next week. I plan to update my shop every Friday with the goods I make during the week.

The last time we went to Paris, I bought this fabulous book about very chic boutiques in Paris. In it I found a papier maché woman (bottom left) and loved it! I really wanted to find out about this person who made it, but the book doesn't say anything about it or who made it, as it is simply a decoration from "Trèsor by Brigitte Masson."

Then a few months back someone leaves a comment in my Flickr pages and I take a peek at who it is and Voila! There she is - my papier maché woman! I also see this bunny mask and remember it! Weird I think and go and read about Dominique Donois and just have to contact her. She is SO inspiring. It turns out we already spoke before, as she left me a comment here about her show at Pomme NYC, which is why I remember that darn mask! Well I just had to share her, in case anyone was looking for her too....hope to see her the next time we do Paris....

For more of her work, visit her agent, click "portfolios des artistes" and then Dominique Donois.

And check out her Papier Maché set at Flickr.

Big Girls Needs Big Bags

When you go of to Kindergarten you need to bring a lot of stuff:

Diapers, complete set of clothes, rain boots, rain coat, rain pants, indoor shoes, extra shoes etc, etc.....

So Mama had to make a new bag! Back side. I made it out of another Moomin dishtowel and pillow cover. Now - of course - Big Brother wants one too. But not quite like it. A little cooler. Maybe more sporty and definitely other colors. Oy...

Img_0577

MILK magazine - a great book and some coffee in the Moomin mug, that Annu sent me as a sweet summer surprise! The sweetness of people - I'm amazed.....oh! And check out my use of the coasters that Amy sent me: Lids! To keep bugs and thirsty cats away. They WILL drink my water!

Then time for a little break in the sun, with some fab magazines - do love

Img_0562_3

I also made these 2 softies today - don't ask me why - I've had the fabric for a while and wanted to try this. They turned out OK, but the cow was sewn together with the back side fabric reversed - so me, so very typical of me! The pearl art was by the kids (of course) and the jar is a thrift find from Holmegaard.

Going Off to Kindergarten

Here she is: Going off to Kindergarten.....

Img_0546

....with her new backpack of her own choice, holding her lunch. She is such a big girl. Making new tiny friends, that wave at her in the morning and come running over to her to play."You can go now Mommy" she says and I guess I can and I go home and wonder: "What I am supposed to do?"

Well I can finally get around to do some of all the great things I always plan to do and never get around to!

Like, get to the bottom of the laundry pile, cleaning the windows, clearing the kids rooms, washing all surfaces of the house.....

Or maybe something a little more fun like, putting up wallpaper, sewing pillows and quilts, de-clutter craft room.....

Or something even better like CRAFTING! Starting my plushies for Plush You 2007, making some more goodies for my etsy shop, try out a new cone dog pattern I made for a window display I decorate, making some skirts for myself and, and, and.....

I've got some grand plans as you can see, also to be a less sporadic Blogger(!)....better make a plan and stick to it! So far I have gotten back on a few emails and browsed the Blogs....better turn of the PC now, huh?

What's going on?

I guess my 10::10 project kinda went down the drain. It's not that I haven't been crafting - ´cause I have - I've just worked on some other things. And then when my deadlines came and went, I really just forgot! I've been doing some swaps, sending out presents and finished an order, so this is what's left of that project! Yup an etsy update!

Img_8214

What I've made:

  • 3 knitted dogs
  • A giraffe softie
  • 2 pink and red elephant cards

And you know what? I forgot to take photos!!!! I really hope the recipients will take some for me?

I also send Robert an issue of Boligliv, because Mahar Drygoods was mentioned in it. How cool is that?

Img_0001

Look at all those others mentioned. Quite lovely I say ;o)

Wednesday my daughter will start Kindergarten, so I hope I'll get to crafting then AND remember to take photos.

Right now I'm enjoying the beautiful weather and the fact that I have been left home alone from Thursday to Monday (?) - husband took the kids to his sister - and that I am going here from Saturday to Sunday with my Mom, her sister and my sister in law. How lucky am I?
