I had so much fun making these pillows for my brother and his girlfriend for Christmas. Seriously. The embroidery part was hilarious. I hadn't thought of it untill I saw the pillow all sewn up and how the rabbit body was missing and the beak of the duck.
I found the forest pillow a little to pale so I had to spruce up the candy/flower one, mixing loads of colors.
I'm real happy with the outcome.
I took this shot one morning after several days of fog. My son had been complaining about not seeing the sun set or rise for ages and he was right: It was horible!
Speaking of my son: Yesterday I was explaining to him, the historic importance of the next President of the United States.
Okay. He's 8. I wonder if he even knows what the name of the head of our own country is. I'll teach him today. As we watch the Inauguration of Barack Obama.

A close friend of mine gave me this Barbapapa "piggy bank" for me to save my pennies. It resembles the single mommy and the many talks we've had about money and life in general as single parents.
We are very good at sharing and helping each other out on a day to day basis.
We talk every day.
And meet at least once a week.
We've got each others backs.
We're family. A new kind of family perhaps. One we have chosen ourselves.
It's priceless.
And I couldn't do without.
I just stumbled upon the newly opened minimega papercrafts shop, which is where Sara sells her fabulous postcards and gift wrap that are printed on 100% recycled paper.

This painting suddently felt a little dull to me and since it was a painting made, thinking of a dear friend of mine, who's a very colorfull, bright, positive person, I had to add some color and give it to her.
(I forgot to sign it and the photo was a quick snap in her kitchen.)
Today I'll go help her hang it in her living room. I'm very exited to see it on her wall. Gotta bring my camera...
Not that much crafting went on but at least I made a little and I feel very good about that. Hopefully 2009 will give me some more time to craft as it makes me feel a whole lot better in general. I DID make handcrafted Christmas presents for eveyone which I will share as soon as I take photographs of them. Forgot that in the Christmas rush. Ack!
