Finally finished a dog for my babe

I see/we see

Recently I got these über cool glasses from Moods of Norway and at the same time, my ex hubby had ordered a pair of glasses from Puma, which looks...hmm...allmost exactly the same!

Now our son needs glasses and of course he wants the same kind. He even drew himself wearing a pair:

Oh...he also draws naked guys. One day he showed one of the drawings to a girl from his class. She hit him in his head with a pencil case.

My sweet boy turned 8 this past weekend. Eight!

We all slept over at ex husbands house, so we could wake up together in the morning and have breakfast and presents.

My son said that the birthday mornings are the greatest, because while he sleeps, I will hang small flags and large flags, inside and out the house and a big bunch of presents will be ready for him, at the dining table.

Later we had a party in the garden, with our wonderful friends and family.

My son had dressed up real nice and combed his hair.

8! Eight!

My daughter has a raspberry plant on the balcony, which she likes to take very good care of. Here she's putting water on every little leaf...

By the way: Her dress is from Marimekko and Annu gave me the grown up version, actually a couple of years ago!

My son has realized that he can read. That he can read everything. Even books with very few pictures. Or dinosaur books with very hard words. One day he was taking notes from one of his Dino books, to give to his friend, so he was up to date. Kids are funny. Really funny.

My Babe

Next week this little bug and I, will enjoy each others company, as the whole country's childcare places will be on strike.

(Luckily I am of from school for the next few months!)

No one knows for how long, but in Copenhagen they've already been on strike for about 2 months I think and my brother has had real trouble having his son out of the nursery for that long.

Going Nuts in Camping Gear

Today was such a great day. The kids and I had so much fun, while shopping for our camping gear. Yup! We're going camping this summer, at Møns Klint for 10 days. It's located right next to the chalk cliffs of Møn and the Geo Center, so my son will be happily entertained, as he is a sucker for fossils, rocks and ancient anything! There's also a fishing pond, where he can sport his Dads old fishing gear and my daughter can catch frogs, toads and little fish in her net. She'll also be happy to meet the horses and hopefully "catch a ride"!

We've bought our selves a tent, sleeping bags, pots and pans, a gas ring and tons of other necessities, plus I've found a used lightweight folding table, that holds 4 little chairs.

Now we can just go camping any time we want!

The kids are so sweet right now, really tired and super good friends after a joyous day AND they know, when they're this cute, I have a hard time telling them to SLEEP.

Best Friends

 

These two little people are the best friends. Ever. They've known each other since their big brothers met in kindergarten and they've since then gone to the same kindergarten together. They're now separated due to the fact, that their kindergarten is closing and they've been sent to two different kindies, but luckily they still have playdates and meet to birthdays and so on, because their mommies are great friends as well. They allways instantly fall into play, no matter how long it's been since they last met and they're just so cute together. It's such a pleasure listening to them in her room, watching them draw (even on their faces - a hem!) or having picnics in the living room.

Summer Was Here

We just had a preview of summer. A week plus of blue skies, massive sun and very warm temperatures. Now it's more chilly, with some gray clouds, but still quite all right.

My girl and I had to freshen up our winter feet and get them ready for sandals! (My daughters are my favorite kids brand Angulus and mine are Shoe Biz.)

Sitting here in our apartment in the summer is....well, some what depressing. It feels like sitting in boxes, stacked on top on each other. We live in a three story building on the second floor, so we have people all around us and even though I am not much of a garden person - I really miss my garden and the green house. Luckily we have a balcony, so we can open the door, step out and get some fresh air, but I wouldn't mind having a closed backyard for the kids to feel free to roam around in. Here it's one big open place, with lots of people passing through. Oh and while I am at wishes? I would so love a bedroom! Seriously. The whole bed sofa thing really isn't working for me....

My baby is 4 today. We had a wonderful, sunny day in my ex husbands garden, with lots of friends and family and cake. Of course.
