Making lunch and doing dishes......and I'm still amazed at how well we all are. How easily we have slipped into this new lifestyle. How we have found new rhythms in no time. How the kids have just accepted that, we live here and Dad lives there. Of course there have been tears, especially from the little one. She can't understand in words. But I try not to make a "big deal" out of it, I just let her grieve. I try not to expect any of us having a huge breakdown, because my believe is that, if you expect something, you are almost sure it will happen. And I believe and expect that, we can live peacefully and happily ever after.....
Oh and with gorgeous new T's for my little girl....
Owl print by Mini Nümph and Bird print by Katvig.
My son thought I needed lessons in how to draw odd animals. I had quite a good time, but never really was as good as him.
The giraffe and paper cuts, are for a swap with Dawn - yay!
This big boy is supposed to be away at camp.
His school has a "Music and Theater Festival" going on up there, with 1255 kids from all over the country. They take all the little kids - 0 through 2. grade - away to camp, for the 3 days it's going on. They supposedly can't cope with all the people and loudness. We live really close to the school and was "blessed" with the wonderful music last night - it lasted until 11 something!
Now my son doesn't like to sleep anywhere else, than near his parents, so my husband picked him up from camp last night at 7:30. Now he has 2 days at home and then 2 more days left of school, before he's on summer break.
Saturday we went to a midsummer party with this bonfire and our great friends - take a look at our adorable kids!
Kindergarten is super for my little big girl - she just loves it. Today she's at home though, with a cough and runny nose. (And poop in her diaper - gotta go!)
Here she is: Going off to Kindergarten.....
....with her new backpack of her own choice, holding her lunch. She is such a big girl. Making new tiny friends, that wave at her in the morning and come running over to her to play."You can go now Mommy" she says and I guess I can and I go home and wonder: "What I am supposed to do?"
Well I can finally get around to do some of all the great things I always plan to do and never get around to!
Like, get to the bottom of the laundry pile, cleaning the windows, clearing the kids rooms, washing all surfaces of the house.....
Or maybe something a little more fun like, putting up wallpaper, sewing pillows and quilts, de-clutter craft room.....
Or something even better like CRAFTING! Starting my plushies for Plush You 2007, making some more goodies for my etsy shop, try out a new cone dog pattern I made for a window display I decorate, making some skirts for myself and, and, and.....
I've got some grand plans as you can see, also to be a less sporadic Blogger(!)....better make a plan and stick to it! So far I have gotten back on a few emails and browsed the Blogs....better turn of the PC now, huh?
My sweet and wonderful daughter turned three Saturday. Can't believe its been three years already! Look how tired and shy she was, when she woke up to flags, Birthday wishes and songs! (And look at Mommas sleep marks on the shoulder!) We had a great day, with the house full of guests and lots of cake. My sweetie certainly enjoyed her Birthday with very pink presents and her tiny friends.
Here my daughter is sporting her new Moomin dress. I made it from a pillow cover, that I got from Paivi. Who by the way, is still waiting for her end of the swap. A-hem. The worm, which she prefers to call snake, is the one I started on for her. We both got impatient and I ended it a bit to soon. She is also showing her love for the walrus, her Daddy brought back from GREENLAND. Yup he went there for 4 days to work on some machines. That's all I know about that!
And YES! We got a bunny. Today. He (or she?) was promptly called Mumle - as in Mumble from Happy Feet. He is loving his new huge home (used to house this big fella) and we have one HAPPY boy, loving Mumle.
...and still they wear the same sweater! Let me present my sweet little daughter and Tracy's ever adorable Little Bug. Tracy told me that the hearty sweater was an H&M thrift find, where as my girls hearts were made by a friend of her Great Grandmas. When she got it for Christmas, I immediately remembered Little Bug - funny, huh? - and of course my babe just LOVES her sweater. She wants to wear it all the time. It's hardly even Spring here yet!
My brother - Rasmus - and I have always lived together. First with our parents, later with our Mom. When we moved away from home, we lived door to door. Untill 3 years ago, when he moved to Copenhagen and I moved a bit south. Now we live an hour away from each other. By car. Since we don't have a car, it takes about 2 hours to get to him.....I'm really sad about not living close to him, as he is my best friend. We can talk about every thing and nothing. When we get together we'll have a few cups o' coffee and a chat. His girlfriend calls us "coffee sisters"! I'm trying to convince him (and his family) to move to our city, without much luck. I hope we either get a car or find a solution, where we can live a bit closer, some day.....I don't like him being that far away!
HIS BOY MY BROWN EYED GIRL
Rasmus and I have this ongoing argument, about whose kids are the cutest. Who had the cutest baby.....I say I had the cutest babies....he says Otto Man is the cutest.....OK so they're all cute, except mine is a bit cuter ;o) Ha ha.....
My sweet little baby is a GIRL now....look at her! She's so BIG. She will start at part time Kindergarten next year. Probably in February or maybe not until May. She's ready to go though. She wants to play with every kid she comes by: "Play Me?" She asks. It's so cute. She can play with her friend Jonatan all day. No interruptions. She's such a good girl and a pleasure to be around ;o)
I like drawing this girl. I don't know who she is - got any suggestions?
I'm very into naive drawings like this. Mine could have been drawn buy any kid though ;o) The ones with various cut out paper dresses, are totally "stolen" from my funny friend Shannon!
I don't know what *My Girls* are up to, but I feel they have snook up on me and there will be more of them. They are very vivid in my mind!
These were drawn by my son. He made more than these. They all say his name with an arrow pointing at the dinosaur. Should I worry?
;o)
BAD HABIT. Bad for health. Bad for daily food budget. Must. Stop. Now.
I might have joined the Comfort Food wagon though, since it just came to my attention, that my son and his classmates were left alone for ONE hour the other day! He started school only 4 weeks ago. His teacher was sick and they had a sub before lunch, but after lunch...no one came, so after 30 minutes the girls in his class, decided to go to the other new class and they all spend the remaining 30 minutes there. I had to hear all of this from here and there, so today I went to the school principal and asked what it was all about. And she DIDN'T KNOW! She's checking it out and will let us all know. Now see my son is in a private school, mainly because they have smaller classes - they are only 14 students compared to 26 in our nearest public school - also he's a *sensitive* little guy, so we decided this would be better for him. Besides this school is just as close - 7 minute walk - as the the public one. And then we get THIS story....I am SO disappointed!
School Boy and Wanna-Be School Girl.
My brother had his baby in June. He is Otto. We love him.

Today my son and I was looking for snowsuits for the kids on-line and stumbled upon a onesie that says "Lillebror" which means "Little brother" and he asked if we could get that for Otto! He LOVES him ;o) By the way - snowsuit wise - I think we'll go for the wonderful suits from Danish design duo Miniature. I like them in army green and red. Well enough of the winter talk!
We had a wonderful week in my sister-in-laws parent's summerhouse this summer. We went there by train and stayed with my brother, Sophie (sil), Otto, their two Chihuahua's and her parents huge mutt! All lovely dogs I might add. The house is in the woods.
Summer is VERY gone here....it's been raining for a month! But we had a super lovely summer before that. Here we are in Bon Bon land, which is only 20 minutes away from us and you can bring your own lunch!
(How do I "center" my new banner?)
We had such a great "Mini-Vacation" this weekend. We borrowed my brother's car and the kids sat in it, for 45 minutes BEFORE we even drove out of here!!! It took us 7 hours to get there and 4 to get home! There had been an accident, on the way out. We all managed. Well my husband got a little grumpy....but....the rest of us where fine ;o)
Our kids absolutely LOVE visiting their Dads sister and all the cousins. It's real sad, that they live 4-5 hours away and that we don't have a car, to go visit more often. They all get to big to fast, y'know.
This is Lasse - who we went to celebrate - and my son's *all time favorite* cousin. They just hang out. He's a lot older than my son, as is Louise, who he plays with sooo well. But they're cousins. And they just love each other, I guess. Even though we don't get together that much, they're just comfortable around each other. So we had a great trip.
Louise's parents (my husband's brother and wife) had - so nicely - prepared a birthday party for my daughter, in their summer house. With presents (getting help from cousin Lykke), cake (check out the pink one) and family - lucky girl!
We stayed in a summer house with my husband's Mom and Calle. We had this very funky lamp, hovering above us, in our room.
Our way back.
Poor Baby! Her Mommy is crazy for stripes! Wow....I really AM nuts - check out the top right one. She even has a striped tank top, showing under the striped wrap dress! Geee....even my crafting is stripey ;o) The dog was for Blair. Ooohh by the way, she sent me a copy of Blueprint - very nice - we can't buy that or Domino or Cookie here. I just subscribed to Cookie though....hope it's good?
Anyway. We just started moving things around the house, to accommodate our new lifestyle. Now it's an even bigger mess. Upstairs we moved the closets out of our bedroom - where the 4 of us sleeps - into the kids room - where they never go. Loving the brightness and air....aahhhh.
The kids will then get the downstairs office/craft room, as a playroom and my husband and I will have to set up camp, somewhere else?
Photo's to come later....gotta get out in the sun....it's finally here! YAY! Time for shades.
Easter is done. My daughter is done nursing. Here she is, totally unaware of what is going to happen!
My son and I had 2 sleepovers at my Mom's place and when we went to my husband's Moms house, he and our daughter came too. The weening has been ok - not to frustrating or crazy - so now we're trying out new routines. Without Mommy's titty ;o)
The *Easter Bunny* came for a visit (isn't it a HUGE rabbit we have?), as did my wonderful friend Laila - checking out my new book, that I got from Lisa. (Check out what I send her!) Oh I just LOVE that book.
Recently I have received so many goodies and I have more to come!
I just got these from Shannon and I can't stop looking at them! They're just so well made, but more importantly - they're sooo cool and HILARIOUS! She also send me fabric and paper swatches, a CD and TWO magazines! (Check out the fabric on the chair, on the front page of the right magazine: Australian Spot.) And I send her 2 cards :o( Hm! Leya send me a beautiful owl (who lives in my yarn basket!) and zipper pouch. Annu send me 2 beautifully wrapped mugs: Moomintroll on ice and Snorkmaiden. They absolutely blew me away. The colors and the MUG - all very wonderful and well suited for coffee drinking! I am now collecting Moomin cups and with our Mag/Mug swap every month......oh hooh hooh!!!
I've gotten *tons* of fabric swatches - thank you: Manda, Lisa, Shannon, Rosa. Take a look how they match.
Risa tagged me. My very first tag. Here goes....
4 recent jobs I've had:
4 movies I could watch over and over:
4 places I've lived:
4 TV shows I love:
4 places I've vacationed:
4 of my favorite dishes:
4 sites I visit daily:
4 places I'd rather be right now:
Well that's it! I think everybody I know of, has been tagged?
*I'm having difficulties with my email - sorry if I don't get back to any of you!*
My son has signed up for The Mini Swap and he is very ready. Ideas are flying around here and it was real hard, getting him out of the door this morning, to go to kindergarten. He only *chocked* a little bit, when I told him, that he might be making and receiving stuff from a GIRL! Oh....but what do they like? What can they make? I calmed him down, by saying that they like to draw and make stuff, just like himself - phew - he's still game!
Well...my game is on to: I'm doing paper cuts like crazy here. Here is our dining table all set up for today's cutting.
I just ordered some more paper, that I found at Moods - I'll be cutting away these next days, to meet my deadline: Beginning of February! I also found some lovely fabric last week, when I went *Thrifting* and I can't wait to put it in to use.
Ordered at Filabel Baby. The boots are by See Kai Run. They make wonderful shoes, that are flexible and fit children's feet! They also sell via American stores.
The blouse is by EjSikkeLej, which is a Danish brand.
On another note:
I've had my share of "New years Thinking". What is 2006 gonna bring me? Or what am I gonna bring me in 2006? Will I start realizing some of my "creative" dreams and goals?
Like Amanda and Blair, I don't DO resolutions, but there IS something about the number turning, that makes me think. Well....I think I'll get back on that....my daughter is trying to get my attention ;o) Here she is - a bit tired....
I received this package today, from the very talented Sabine of Sisterbrandt. It has postcards, gift tags, some paper and two very cool vintage badges. Tusind tak Sabine!!! Can't wait for you to start blogging!! ;o)
My son was very exited about it and "stole" some of the tags, to use as "bus tickets".
The kids got a lot of presents for Christmas, but here are my 2 favorites, that my daughter got...
Well, we all know the cabbage patch kids doll, right? This one here is Ulrika Jenny. It's very funny though, because we have a tiny friend, whose name is Ulrika! Cute, huh?
The dress, on the other hand, is by Ramonster Wear (a very cool kids clothing line, designed by Kathie Sever), that I found at Black Wagon. I just LOVE the style.
We've had a super Christmas! My boyfriend is back to work now, the kids will be home until January 2. and I only have Thursday and Friday left at my job at Sus & Dus. Then I have all of January off, until I start at my new job, February 1. 2006, which is a permanent job!
This is Jack. I made him for my son. He loves him ;o)
So....I've been busy, sick (again!), working and very preoccupied with Christmas.
Also: I've had problems commenting on other TypePad blogs - sorry - I DO still read everyone blogs! TypePad and I ARE trying to figure out what's going on...
JACK MY SON
Crafting Kids:
Mommy:
I've got a cold - I feel terrible and VERY tired, but I have to stay "fresh", because I'm alone with the kids, have been so since yesterday. My boyfriend is away, helping his Dad move. Wish he was here, so I could just snuggle up and feel sorry for myself ;o)
This is what it looks like, when I'm knitting. Can you tell I'm knitting a dog?
These colors will be for my daughter....
...but my son got real exited, when he found out I was knitting a dog: "I want it, I want it...please?"
He just loves softies and teddies and all kinda soft creatures. This is most of his "stash" and him buried in his loved ones.
The one he's holding, is his first teddy, that his Daddy got him the day he was born and he sleeps with him every night.
Rosa's postcards arrived today. I am sooo loving them. They will definitely be used for Christmas decorating. I think I will frame them individually in black frames - very cool. They will probably stay on the wall for all of 2006, if I know just a little bit about myself! Ha Ha...
Isn't snail mail just GREAT?
*Check out the Santa card - very funny*
My swap package for Jackie was finally out of here and off to Australia yesterday, after many trials and errors, including sick kids - again! How am I ever gonna keep a job? And how can we afford me not having a job? Phewie...
Here she is - my daughter - sporting the skirt I finally finished.
It was actually quite simple, it just took me a while to get on with it.
The weekend just flew by and we didn't do anything at all :o(
We just had a cat living here for a few days, we even thought he had moved in! Our 2 other cats had accepted him and let him eat his food, but then when we came back from my mother in law, he was gone. My husband then met one of our neighbors, who was putting up posters, about the little cat, because now he was sleeping on their sofa! What a funny kitten...
Don't you just love this huge frame? I got a while back and it was a steal.
Notice the lamp in the background, it's actually designed by my Grandads cousin - Simon Karkov - cool, eh? It's called Norm 69 and I got it last year, for my 30 birthday. I looove it.
