10::10

I've decided to do a "little" project. The plan is to do 10 projects in 10 weeks. I figured I could manage a project a week? I want to get back in crafting gear, so to speak, so I came up with this idea. The catch is that I have to use what I have, except for times when I run out of thread or doggie eyes.

I've made a list of things that I want to make and each week I will pick a new subject. Here it is in random order:

  1. Elephant Card
  2. Giraffe Card
  3. Bird Card
  4. Elephant Softie
  5. Giraffe Softie
  6. Cat Softie
  7. Dino Softie
  8. Knitted Dog
  9. *New* Softie
  10. Pillow

I hope to post a finished project every Sunday and to mark the end of my 10::10 project, in the beginning of June, I will set up a little shop where I will sell the goods. Sounds interesting? 'Course I hope to do more than ONE thing a week, but to keep my spirit high, ONE is my goal.

June also marks the beginning of my daughters new life - Kindergarten life that is - and my new life. What ever that'll be. Maybe I should aim for 10 projects a week, so I can make a living out of it and pay for my Sweeties Kindergarten?

Here's some W.I.P.: A knitted snake for my daughter and stitchery for a pillow. The "Four-Blossom Flower" is from this book, that I borrowed at the library. Lots of inspiration and "how-to's" for a beginner like me....

A Little Craft Corner

Img_7433 Img_7436

I have occupied a little corner of our dining room. I was tired of having my sewing machine on the dining room TABLE. Luckily this beautiful table was given to me, by my sister in laws parents. Her Mother used it as a "hair cutting table" for dogs years ago. We got a smaller one for my son, he uses it a desk in the playroom and it is terribly messy - all the time. The other day he asked me, if I couldn't have it cleaned up by the time he came back from school! Uhm....no. He made the little angel and the cones in the window. I made the mushrooms out of hobby clay.

This is Me & my Poncho. I found it at the thrift store for $ 6,- I was SO happy, because I really wanted one and had thought of knitting one myself....even though I still haven't finished the shawl I started in the Spring!

This is some W.I.P.. They are for the Christmas table, inspired by Alicia's Lucia's.

I'm making one more cat. For fun. And for the love of this fabric. I thrifted it a while back. It's bed linen. I want to use it for a scarf as well. Mix it up with some thrifted yarn. Maybe in the line of this.

To wear with this coat I recently thrifted. $ 8,- I love the color. I just had to remove the shoulder pads. Maybe I'll lift the shoulder seam abit.

I also thrifted these "ZOO" pants for my son's birthday. Have to shorten them abit. I got him a black shirt to go with them. He didn't like it. Then I got this transfer from Shannon. She send me some cool fabric, that I decided would look good with the transfer. He doesn't like it.

My daughter loves the transfer. Will make something for her in stead.

I bought me some Christmas Cards from Shannon's Etsy Shop. Don't know if I'll send them anywhere. As you might have noticed - I LOVE HER LITTLE CREATURES!

She even sent me some extras!

More Babes on the Way

Img_6962jpg2 Img_6965jpg2

Well no babies for me at this point! One of my girlfriends are having a baby boy in January, so I made her this Earth Quilt to frame and a cat with an attached mouse!

I have some W.I.P. here.

Craft Room Lost

I've lost my Craft Room :o(

The kids have taken over the entire room and I have been thrown out! Now I have stuffed my goodies in all kinds of places around the house.

We have 2 old trunks in our dining room/kitchen, that I got from my Grandparents, they now hold all my fabric.

Inside the chalkboard closet, I have my sewing machines, buttons, paper, craft books (I don't have that many, now do I?), various paper, scissors and other "stuff."

Underneath the windows (still the dining room/kitchen area) we have 2 IKEA PS cabinets, which have locks that comes in handy, as I keep paint, finished products and other stuff to *Keep Away from Children.*

Sneak Peak.

Manda's Corner:

Please notice this W O N D E R F U L quilt, that Manda made for my husband and I for our wedding. I SO SO treasure it. She's just amazingly talented.

And then there's my Knitting Area (scroll down). Inside the chest of drawers I have my yarn, knitting needles, stuffing etc.

Well that's my *Studio.* I seem to get a little done once in a while though. Here's my W.I.P. at the moment, with my newest possession: A Danish-English dictionary. Finally. I'm making a pattern with instructions for a project I got involved with, so I SERIOUSLY needed it.
